@kroasana False comparison: the ab tense requires more energy, and it directs that force towards hard work: not so, merely standing. THe nature of the contractins are entirely different. In any case, as I said before, your abs get a little work in when you do chins and pulls, even though lats and arms run the show.

  2. kroasana says:

@rmsolympic1 yeah… but when you’re standing up at one place there is a little tense too that doesent mean that youll make muscle progression from it

  3. rmsolympic1 says:

@kroasana Yes, at least a little as the lower abs tense while you lean backand cross your legs, contributing a little leverage to the pulling muscles hard at work. Likewise, as odd as it may seem, the chest muscles get a wee bit of work, too, as they contract throughout the motion.

  4. ObviousTrull says:

These really develop the chest muscles well.

  5. Oster910 says:

the abs work here because the legs are bent and that makes it more tension overloading your normal ammount. do about 35 of these and you will know why

  6. MrSebz123 says:

naww I ment that in no offence to twelve year olds.. just that I have two younger brothers that happen to be around that age and they’d make comments like that.

  7. jarooFLtutor says:

why do you look down on younger people just cause of their age :s?

  8. MrSebz123 says:

@ kroasana Oh and I’m pretty sure he explains that his abs are taking part in the exercise.

  9. MrSebz123 says:

*pardon my grammar: “that all depends on whether you’re doing them correctly”

  10. MrSebz123 says:

Of course you can get abs from pull ups. But that all depends if you’re doing them the correct way … Pull ups can help strengthen arms, shoulders, pecs, abs, muscles in your back , and other muscles …

  23. A good explanation for a wide grip is to place the hands on the bar at a distance that when pulling yourself up, your arms form something of a goal post shape.
